Supporting Communities and Families
Knowing Your Rights and Supporting Your Communities
The Community Systems Statewide Supports team is committed to serving early childhood collaborations and stakeholders who are critical resources and connectors for communities, families, and children across Illinois. In this time of uncertainty and heightened anxiety—especially for our immigrant families—we remain committed to our values as a team. This means we will continue to provide resources and serve as a connector and support. Below, you will find key information and resources to support your collaboration, community, and families.
- Find resources for families and community partners, including family preparedness plans, know your rights information, printable red cards, and a guide for creating “safe space” policies for early childhood programs: Illinois Action for Children: Guide to Knowing Your Rights and Promoting Your Safety.
- Guidance from ISBE for public schools as it relates to immigration enforcement actions: Non-Regulatory Guidance on Immigration Enforcement Actions.
- Information from the National Council of Nonprofits on recent executive orders that may affect nonprofits directly or indirectly: Executive Orders Affecting Charitable Nonprofits.
